Presentation Skills

Public Speaking

Ever felt scared to deliver a short presentation? Speaking in public is in the top of people’s fears, but what a few people know is that a few theory and practice is all they need to make a huge difference.

Presentation skills are of paramount importance for today's highly competitive environment. Being able to communicate an idea in a clear, understandable and memorable way is crucial to open new opportunities. Either to present your master thesis or to pitch your business concept to potential investors, you will need to be effective at getting your message through. From the very beginning participants will get hands-on, deliver presentations and receive feedbak. The second presentation will be taped for further feedback.

The goal of this training is to give you sthe proper theory, tools and skills needed to improve your presentation skills. By the end of the session participants will:

  • Be more aware of the fear drivers when speaking in public
  • Learn how to give and receive constructive feedback among each other
  • Be aware of the communication process
  • Learn how to use your body language to support your presentations
  • Practice presentations receiving and giving appropriate feedback
  •

If you are interested to attend the advanced session on Saturday afternoon, you are welcome to apply as well.

    BEST soft-skills trainers

I became part of BEST world in (for me) far 2004 and since then it has been a joy ride like no other. I had so many opportunities to learn something new, work on interesting projects, travel, meet new people and have fun all the way. In the past few years I have retired as an active member, but I still try to give back all that I have learned through training and knowledge transfer whenever I can.

For almost 10 years I have been in close contact with different forms of non-formal education. In the beginning it was there to help me grow and learn. But soon I wanted to help others do the same. First I did
it the best I knew how and then finally in 2008 I attended a Train the Trainer event where I have further improved my knowledge delivery skills. From then on I have been more involved in the non-formal youth education in Europe and recently I have started some new projects with my colleagues that aim to make non-formal education more accessible to everybody.

At the moment I have started my PhD studies here at KTH in Stockholm and I am looking forward to being part of this event and getting closer to local students.

    BEST soft-skills trainers

I have been a trainer in our organisation BEST for more than four years and one of my goals as a trainer was always to strive for constant self-development and improvement of the quality of my trainings.

In total I have delivered more than 200 hs in 27 events including five trainshops (training course on a specific topic that lasts for 1-2 weeks). I delivered most of the soft-skills related topics that we cover in BEST, but over the years I tended to focus more on Personality Types (MBTI), leadership, Group dynamics (mainly Belbin Team Roles), persuasion and presentation skills.

I have been part of the Local BEST group of Milano and Stockholm, where I actively worked with everyday activities, large projects and even in several occasions as part of the board. I have led many projects as a member, however my interests have been more related with strategic growth, HR and trainings. I have also explored and worked on graphic design on different levels; websites, posters, leaflets, presentations, etc.

I'm looking forward to delivering once more the topic personality types which I find fascinating and highly recommendable for anyone interested in getting to know him/herself better.
